Why Do I Draw?

I've been drawing casually since I was young, starting with doodling in notebooks. I've even uploaded some of my drawings on Instagram. Even now, I often scribble in notebooks whenever I'm bored. But I've never seriously thought about or organized why I want to draw, so I'm taking this opportunity to do so.

1. Sense of Control
- When I draw, I can delicately create 'my own world' with my fingertips.
- What I currently work with: landscapes/textures/patterns, atmospheres like warmth or emptiness
- Why I focus on atmosphere:
- It's partly my preference and partly a technical limitation of not being skilled at drawing other subjects yet.
- I think my range of expression will expand with practice.
- Moments of satisfaction: When a drawing fills an A5 page after 30-60 minutes of immersion.
2. Recording and Sharing
- Drawing is a record that preserves emotions/intentions.
- Recording also allows me to track growth in my drawing skills.
- At the same time, the meaning becomes greater when it reaches someone and creates value.
- So if I draw, I want to show it to others.
- I consider positive reactions from others as a bonus.
- But ultimately, I hope what I draw has value for others too.
